It’s fair to say Georges-Kévin N’Koudou hasn’t had the start to Tottenham life which he would have wanted. Spurs fans will likely remember the player’s transfer saga from the summer, with N’Koudou spending weeks holed up in a London hotel as Tottenham and Marseille quarrelled over the final details of a move, and Clinton N’Jie doubted a return to the French club.
Both players ended up making their moves, but N’Koudou hasn’t done any better than N’Jie so far at Tottenham. Given the Frenchman is just 21 years of age, there has to be some allowances, but he’s only managed 36 minutes of Premier League football so far, with another 69 minutes in the Champions League.
A brief cameo against Aston Villa recently showed some flashes of why Mauricio Pochettino bought the player, but N’Koudou hasn’t been on the pitch at all in either of the two matches since, out of the match day squad entirely for Saturday’s 2-2 draw against Manchester City.
Given all of this it’s no surprise that L’Equipe include N’Koudou in a list of players who could be achievable for Ligue 1 clubs this month. The French newspaper believe N’Koudou will ‘undoubtedly’ be giving the idea some consideration, if only to get some minutes on the pitch.
N’Koudou will hope he can kick on in the second half of the season, and remaining with Tottenham is surely the likeliest option right now, even if L’Equipe believe an exit is a possibility. Come the summer, if the situation remains the same, then it may be time for N’Koudou to consider things, just like N’Jie before him.
