Tottenham Hotspur defender Luka Vuskovic has a verbal agreement in place with Brighton and Hove Albion.
Sky Germany report that the 19-year-old has already held ‘very positive conversations’ with Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler. Those talks were ‘decisive’ for the centre-back.

In fact, according to Sky’s information, they were so decisive that the Tottenham centre-back has now turned down several other clubs who were also very interested in him.
As a result, Brighton have now submitted an offer worth €35m for the centre-back. But it is unlikely that Tottenham will accept the offer.
According to Sky’s information, Tottenham’s plan is to keep the defender, extend his contract at the club, or sell for a ‘very high price’. They’ve not made a definitive decision about what they will do with the Croatian international at this moment in time.
But an offer of €35m is likely to be swiftly rejected. Various reports in Germany have insisted that Tottenham value Luka Vuskovic at well over €50m this summer.
He has spent this season on loan at Bundesliga side HSV Hamburg. And it’s been a successful loan, to say the least. The defender was one of the breakout stars of the season, with a series of impressive performances earning him admirers around Europe.
Tottenham stance
Tottenham’s plans for him have never been made clear. The defender is prioritising playing time but faces competition from Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and Marcos Senesi already. Spurs are also trying to sign Jan Paul van Hecke from Brighton to reunite him with Roberto de Zerbi.
So, the question is whether Vuskovic wants to remain and fight for his place, or head elsewhere for guaranteed playing time. Of course, he could quickly replace Van Hecke in Fabian Hurzeler’s system should he depart.
Perhaps it is that which has convinced him on the switch already. With an agreement now in place, it’s now a question of whether Brighton can convince Tottenham to sell.
