Robin Koch left German club Eintracht Trier and made a switch to SC Freiburg in 2017.

In the past two seasons, the centre-back has made 40 starts in the league and Bild claims the 22-year-old’s performances for his club have seen him draw attention from top European clubs.

Two sides who are ‘hot’ on the defender are Tottenham Hotspur and Valencia.

Toby Alderweireld’s contract at Spurs will run down in 2020, but the report believes the Belgium international is expected to leave his current employer after this campaign.

It’s explained that Mauricio Pochettino’s side have identified Koch as a replacement for the former Southampton man.

The Freiburg central defender’s contract will run down in 2021 and the report states he will not be available on the cheap.

Leicester City signed Çağlar Söyüncü from the German outfit for €21.1m last summer and it was the record fee they received from player’s sale. Bild explains Koch’s sale could bring in more than that amount.

A move to either Tottenham or Valencia will see the Germany U21 international play in European competitions, which Freiburg are unlikely to provide for years to come.

Bild, however, does not provide information as to who is currently leading the transfer race for Koch.
