In the past few months, we’ve been seeing the Brazilian media often speaking of the race for Athletico Paranense youngster Vitor Roque.
With the player showing great potential for his club and the national team youth ranks, he’s expected to be the next big sale in South America.
And as Globo Esporte shares some updates on this battle, Tottenham Hotspur are added to the list of clubs who want him. That’s something of a surprise, given they weren’t seen as being in the picture previously.
The outlet features a story claiming Vitor Roque’s entourage has been in Europe speaking to several sides, having visited England and Spain.
On their first stop, they met several Premier League clubs, and Tottenham are reportedly one of them.
It’s said two English clubs promised to make their bids in the summer, although there are no details on who they are or how much they’re putting on the table.
Tottenham are obviously going through a complicated period right now, but if they want the signing done, they better move fast.
That’s because the 18-year-old’s entourage also met the likes of Barcelona, Arsenal, Aston Villa, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and West Ham United. With all this competition, the youngster is expected to cost over €42m.
