Tottenham have ‘granted a discount’ to AC Milan in talks over Emerson Royal, with it believed they’ve now ‘lowered their requests’ to try and facilitate a transfer.
That’s according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who say Milan continue to push for the Brazilian as they look to add a full-back to their squad.
They’ve already identified Emerson Royal as the man they want, believing the Tottenham man as the ideal profile for new manager Paulo Fonseca.
The big issue is getting the deal for him to fit on an economic level, with the club working under a specific framework and unable to move beyond that.
A little more work is needed on that front in negotiations with Tottenham, but the positive is that Spurs have granted a discount to the Italian side and lowered their initial requests.
The two sides are said to be negotiating positively and while Tottenham initially started negotiations wanting €30m, they are willing to lower that and bring it closer to Milan’s hard ceiling of €20m.
There is still a gap between the two clubs but Tottenham’s willingness to bring their demands down, or at least be flexible on that front, makes a deal more than possible and Milan believe they can see the finish line and get a deal for Emerson Royal over it.
