On Wednesday, Record reported Tottenham Hotspur have offered €34m to sign Pedro Porro, but Sporting continue referring to his €45m release clause.
Today’s Record states the north London club’s interest in the right-back has not diminished and they have made a new effort to secure his services.
Former Tottenham player Marcus Edwards joined the Lions from Vitória de Guimarães a year ago and Spurs are eligible to earn 50% of the fee from his future sale. The attacker is also on the English club’s agenda, but their immediate focus is to sign Porro.
To convince Sporting to let go of the Spaniard, Antonio Conte’s side are willing to give up the rights they hold for Edwards.
Sporting value Edwards at €60m and Tottenham’s latest offer for Porro means they are ready to let go of a €30m share for the attacker.
Record says this offer for the defender is higher than the one proposed yesterday [€34m in cash], but the situation has not changed.
The offer would include the Edwards share, a fixed payment and further bonuses.
Sporting continue to insist Porro will only leave if his €45m release clause is triggered. They want this fee to be paid only in cash and not include any player[s] as part of the deal.
Tottenham are crazy to sign Porro, but are still not able to find an agreement with Sporting.
