Tottenham Hotspur sent a scout to the match between Porto and Casa Pia at the weekend, according to reports from Portugal.

Newspaper A Bola says Spurs were one of the many sides who watched the Dragons’ 2-1 win, with the representatives ‘gathering information’ about potential summer targets.

Porto won that match 2-1, and there was a good exhibition from the only player on the pitch who was recently linked to a Tottenham move.

That’s Diogo Costa, who, in the past few months, was said to be a potential replacement for Hugo Lloris this summer.

The goalkeeper, who remains protected by a €75m release clause, had a very good performance. He could do nothing for the own goal, and actually made good saves which saved the Dragons from conceding an equaliser.

Tottenham should watch out for competition, because Manchester United, who are also frequently linked to Costa, had scouts at the game as well. The match also had officials from Paris Saint Germain, Lille, Nantes, Torino, Fiorentina, Bologna, Racing Santander and Augsburg present.

If Spurs wanted to see other talents during that match, then the likes of Matheus Uribe, Galeno, Gabriel Veron and Danny Namaso may have drawn their attention.
