Earlier on Friday, we covered a claim from France Football that Georges-Kevin Nkoudou was edging ever closer to a move to Saint-Etienne, looking for some squad depth after the injury of Romain Hamouma.
Even before the unfortunate sidelining of the forward, the Tottenham man was already being looked at, but recent events seem to have sped things up.
Picking up on that information and adding their own, Peuple Vert, a fan site close to the Ligue 1 side, reveal they’ve been told a player is expected to be signed this weekend.
That doesn’t mean it will necessarily be the Spurs man, but considering how advanced talks for the other targets are, they seem fairly confident it will be Nkoudou.
The only other option is Clermont Foot’s Franck Honorat, as Yannick Salibur’s potential arrival would only take place in the ‘last hours of the transfer window’.
While Premier League clubs cannot bolster their squads any longer, all clubs in France still have until August 31st to wheel and deal on the transfer market.
