Earlier on Wednesday, we covered a report from Italy claiming that Tottenham could make a return fro Sofyan Amrabat.
Of interest to Antonio Conte and co. last season, the Morocco international ended up staying at Fiorentina, where he has returned to the first-team and has excelled under Vincenzo Italiano.
He has also been a key part of his national team’s success in Qatar so far, as they prepare to face Portugal in the competition’s quarter finals after seeing off Spain on penalties on Tuesday.
All this has led to numerous clubs taking an interest in him, including Tottenham and Liverpool, with the latter already said to have taken steps via their manager to try and get ahead of the game.
This is according to Foot Mercato, who also cover Spurs’ interest in the player, explaining that while the Merseyside club have already met with the midfielder’s agent, the London side are still in the mix.
They state Tottenham are ‘following his contractual situation with attention’, and while they came close to signing him in the past, this time, it could be different.
As for Amrabat in all this, it’s said he ‘appreciates the Premier League and could therefore really realise his dream’.
There’s no mention of how much he would cost, but as expected, the better he plays in the World Cup, the more money Fiorentina can ask, ‘much to their delight’, as Foot Mercato put it.
