Having signed a centre-back for now and the future in Radu Dragusin and picked up Lucas Bergvall for the summer, Tottenham are not yet done with their recruitment under Ange Postecoglou.

Another midfielder appears to be on the agenda, as January saw the Premier League side go after Ederson, currently one of the stars at Atalanta.

They were rebuffed, like many others, since the Serie A side didn’t want to part ways with their key player midway through the campaign, and Gazzetta Dello Sport explain it will be difficult to get the Brazilian in the summer as well, warning Tottenham and other suitors.

They explain his performances this season have not gone unnoticed around Europe, but especially in the Premier League, where a long queue is forming.

One of the main contenders appear to be Tottenham, as they and Newcastle are following the midfielder ‘with some insistence’.

Regarding the price, it’s said that the lowest Atalanta will listen to is €40m, but the message is any club ‘will need at least €45m’ to take him away from Bergamo.

What also needs to be addressed is that if Atalanta qualify for next season’s Champions League, they have no intention of weakening their side, meaning that it might cost even more to get Emerson at that point.

Something for Tottenham to keep in mind if they intend to return for him in the summer.
