As has been widely reported in the past, Tottenham are interested in Nicolo Zaniolo, who is currently contracted to AS Roma.
However, with his current deal expiring in 2024, there is a worry about his future in Rome, especially after Spurs made some moves during the last transfer window, courtesy of Fabio Paratici, who has been a keen admirer for some time.
It was reported that Tottenham made an offer to the Serie A club for their star, but it was eventually turned away by the Italians, as they wanted the money up front, and not at a later date.
Following some serious injuries to his knees, it’s understandable that clubs wouldn’t want to lump money up front for Zaniolo despite his talent, and while Spurs were turned down, they haven’t gone away.
That’s what TuttoMercatoWeb suggest on Monday, looking at the Italy international’s situation, as they state Roma are ‘far from being protected’ by his contract.
Then comes ‘the interest from the Premier League’, with ‘Tottenham first of all’, clearly stating that the likes of Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici would be interested in bringing the player to London if they could.
This, combined with Juventus lurking and Zaniolo’s contract, means that ‘hot scenarios are opening up’ around the Italian ‘in the months to come’.
