Tottenham could put €40m on the table for Lazio’s Gustav Isaksen, but face competition from Inter Milan for his signing.
That’s according to La Repubblica and Cronaca di Roma, who both comer the player today in information relayed by Calciomercato.
Repubblica report that Tottenham are very interested in the winger and could put €40m on the table to sign him this summer. They believe he has the perfect characteristics for the Premier League.
That echoes the reports from earlier this week that named them as suitors and insisted that they could launch an assault at over €40m for the 23-year-old.
Cronaca di Roma, though, report that Tottenham could face competition as Inter Milan and Simone Inzaghi are very keen on him too.
They say that Inter manager Simone Inzaghi has ‘fallen in love’ with Isaksen and believes he would fit in perfectly with the 3-5-2 formation he employs. He even believes he can turn him into a full-back.
They have not made any official moves yet and nor have Tottenham, but both are very much interested in him ahead of the summer.
Lazio, for their part, do not have any ‘unsellable players’ so any offer received will be taken into consideration. They would set a very high starting point for negotiations given Isaksen is a star, would have to be replaced and has a contract until 2028.
Whether that is €40m or more remains to be seen but Tottenham could be set for a battle with Lazio if they do decide to move officially.
