Olivier Giroud can be forgiven for feeling a little cheated right now.

Before Antonio Conte went about signing Premier League club owned players like Ashley Young, Victor Moses and Christian Eriksen, Inter Milan were most strongly linked with Giroud.

It was going to be the French striker to arrive first, and then Inter would work on the other issues. Things very much didn’t work out that way and now, with a couple of days left in the window, the former Arsenal player finds himself linked with Tottenham.

Harry Kane’s injury means Jose Mourinho has been looking for a striker, with various Spurs targets coming and going over the past week.

France’s RMC now back up claims from elsewhere of Tottenham interest in the Chelsea striker.

According to them, Mourinho’s club have expressed interest in the signing ‘in recent hours’, but there’s been no offer made to Chelsea yet.

Will the Blues help out a club which could rival them for a Champions League place? It feels unlikely, especially with that club being Tottenham.
