Tottenham have travelled to Lecce ‘several times’ to watch midfielder Morten Hjulmand in action, even though he dreams of joining Arsenal.
Hjulmand is one of the rising stars of Serie A following a series of impressive performances for Lecce in Italy this season.
He’s been developing a growing list of suitors as a result and Calciomercato report that ‘many clubs’ have set their sights on signing the 23-year-old.
Those interested clubs are in both Italy and ‘foreign’ and Tottenham are one of the latter according to the website.
They state that both Spurs and Borussia Dortmund ‘have come several times’ to see the midfielder play for Lecce, seemingly doing their homework on the player ahead of a possible move in the summer.
His current price tag is around €15m, a more than affordable and acceptable figure for a player who appears to have a very bright future ahead of him.
Should Tottenham move, though, they may want to take into account Hjulmand’s apparent love of rivals Arsenal.
Back in February we covered a report that made it clear the midfielder is a massive fan of the Gunners and had ‘Vieira’s poster in his room as a child’.
He dreams of joining the Gunners at some point in his career and it was even claimed that he has an Arsenal badge tattooed on his left shoulder.
That would suggest he’s not going to be jumping at the prospect of joining their fierce rivals anytime soon, although stranger things have happened before now.
