Tottenham are ‘closely following’ Getafe chief Ramon Planes as they eye up potential replacements for Fabio Paratici.
That’s according to Fichajes, who say Spurs could be an option for Planes when he leaves Getafe as planned in the coming weeks.
Earlier today we explained how Tottenham may have been handed an easy route to hiring Planes, with Getafe not putting anything in place to block his next move.
They’re gearing up to separate from their director of football, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham alongside a potential return for Mauricio Pochettino.
That potential switch comes about after Paratici’s ban for alleged financial regulations in Italy with Juventus was extended to a worldwide ban by FIFA, meaning he is likely to be forced to leave his role at Tottenham as a result.
Fichajes now say that Planes ‘could be tempted’ by an offer from Tottenham, who are ‘closely following’ the sporting director.
They’re presumably keeping an eye on him as they know Real Betis are also keen on potentially hiring him, with Fichajes explaining that his name has been marked in their plans for a while.
Everything indicated they would get him but that is no longer the case and the plans have ‘suddenly gone awry’ thanks to the interest from elsewhere.
Whether Tottenham do make a move remains to be seen, and is reliant on what happens with Paratici first, but it seems they are keeping an eye on him just in case.
