Earlier on Monday, we covered a report from Turkey claiming that Tottenham and Galatasaray were entering the final stages of the Davinson Sánchez’s transfer.
The Turkish side have until September 15th to get a transfer done, as their window ends two weeks after most of Europe’s, giving Spurs extra time to get the player off their books.
Sabah, in their print edition, have a bit of information that corroborates previous reports and adds some details regarding the negotiations with Tottenham.
They state Galatasaray turned their attention on Sánchez after failing to attract Sergio Ramos, and it’s revealed they want to pay the Premier League side €8m ‘in instalments’.
In fact, they came ‘very close to agreeing’ a deal with Tottenham, suggesting Daniel Levy isn’t against the bid on offer, but likely wants to see if he can squeeze a bit more out of them.
The belief, though, is that Galatasaray are ‘about to sign’ the 27-year-old defender, and are also continuing their search for a midfielder, having previously also approached Spurs for Tanguy Ndombélé.
That didn’t go to plan, but who knows what can happen in the next two weeks, especially with the Frenchman clearly not in Ange Postecoglou’s plans at Tottenham.
