Last summer Marca were inspired by FIFA coming up with The Best awards.

The Spanish newspaper saw the ceremony and decided what the world really needed was something to balance it off, so they created The Worst awards.

Tottenham’s Vincent Janssen was named The Worst Striker and ended up in Marca’s poor eleven. This year, Spurs don’t get any players in the team Marca have selected, but Chelsea get one and both clubs have finalists for The Worst signing of the season.

Hurrah.

Marca have narrowed it down to four signings they feel were terrible, and asked readers to vote.

The options are Tiémoué Bakayoko, Fernando Llorente, Leonardo Bonucci and Benedikt Höwedes.

Of the more than 50,000 to have voted up to now, 33% have Bonucci, 26% went for Llorente, 24% chose Bakayoko, and Howedes was picked by 17%.

Juventus’ defender, now returned from AC Milan spell, looks destined to be the winner at this stage. He must be thrilled.
