Tottenham have a good chance of getting Wolfsburg defender Micky van de Ven this summer but are yet to make a ‘concrete offer’ for him.
That’s according to Sky Sports Germany, who say that a departure from the German side is ‘not far-fetched’ for the highly rated centre back.
They explain that Van de Ven ‘flirts with an exit’, publicly admitting earlier this year that he would love to move if given the chance.
That is not completely off of the cards either, with reports claiming that Tottenham are a hot candidate for the player. Sky, though, say VfL have not yet received an offer for him as of Friday.
Despite that it seems Wolfsburg have ‘already planned’ for a departure because with Sebastiaan Bornauw, Maxence Lacroix and the newcomers Moritz Jenz and Cedric Zesiger they are well covered in terms of central defenders.
That’s not to say they will let the defender go on the cheap, with them hoping to secure a transfer fee bigger than the one they received for Felix Nmecha, who has joined Borussia Dortmund for a fee of around €30m this summer.
Whether Tottenham would be willing to spend such a figure isn’t yet clear, but the possibility of a transfer is very much there if their interest is as concrete as has been suggested.
