During the past few months, there have been several reports from different countries saying Tottenham Hotspur would be interested in AC Milan midfielder Suso.
The summer window closed, the Spaniard continued having a good season for the Serie A side, but the rumours wouldn’t go away.
Now Italian website Calcio Mercato has a story about the player’s situation today, and it seems there are mixed feelings about his future at Milan.
It’s claimed that although Suso is currently important for the club, the board is ready to make a ‘sacrifice if needed’, especially to take that money and invest in players to strengthen the squad for the Champions League.
It means Milan would consider good bids, and wouldn’t have much to do in case someone shows up ready to pay the midfielder’s €50m release clause. Tottenham and Atletico Madrid are mentioned as admirers.
But that depends on Suso’s will as well. Earlier today, he’s spoken to Milan’s official channel and claimed he wants to stay there for many years, with the local media even asking he if could be the next captain.
It’s presented not so difficult situation for Tottenham, with €50m not as huge as it once was in transfers. However, Suso’s level may have been artificially inflated by all the recent hype, and it’s unlikely Mauricio Pochettino would instruct Spurs to go to such a price.
