Over the past few days, we’ve seen reports from the Portuguese media claiming that former Tottenham Hotspur player Marcus Edwards wants to ‘go home’, and that he still has a ‘special connection’ with Spurs.
That’s a story which has been growing in Portugal, and it’s now A Bola who feature a piece talking about that possibility.
The newspaper writes that Edwards sees a return to England with ‘good eyes’, and points out that Tottenham are one of the clubs who’ve been linked to him recently.
Since the winger recently lost his starting place in Sporting’s team, it’s said the club would let him go for just €20m.
Even though West Ham United are also said to be interested in Edwards, the big advantage that Tottenham have is they’re still due 35% of his next transfer fee, which would turn into a discount in case they go for his signing.
Despite the winger’s ups and downs, A Bola claims that his potential, as well as the fact that he’s English, is something that draws interest from Premier League sides. This season, in the Lions’ title winning campaign, he had six goals and nine assists in 44 appearances.
