Tottenham can sign Mallorca star Kang-in Lee for €17m this summer but may need to move quickly as he’s been offered to Atlético Madrid.
AS cover the player today and how Atlético are deliberating over whether to make a move for the South Korean or bring Rodrigo Riquelme into the fold next season.
The Mallorca star ‘has been offered’ to them and he is a player they like, with them also trying to sign him in the January transfer window.
They would like him for what he can add on the pitch, but the economic factor is also on the table. Riquelme would essentially be a free transfer while Kang-in would cost €17m thanks to a clause in his contract.
They’ve already been linked with the forward over the last few weeks, with a report at the end of April stating they were in the lead for him followed by one explaining they could be set for a transfer battle with Atlético.
The former indicated a deal would be for less than €30m but now we know it would actually be €17m, a figure Tottenham could easily afford if they are as interested in the player as has been suggested.
Indeed, they might be best served moving now before Atlético make a firm decision and provide firm competition for Kang-in’s signature.
