Tottenham’s Lucas Bergvall shouldn’t expect any special treatment when he takes on Hammarby in his final game for Djurgården.
That’s according to Hammarby’s Fredrik Hammar, who insists the fact the youngster will be making his final appearance means nothing to him.
Bergvall is set to join Tottenham this summer after they wrapped up a deal for the highly rated youngster earlier this year.
The 18-year-old is set to join Tottenham in July after they beat off competition from the likes of Barcelona to secure his signature in a €10m deal.
He’s been gearing up for the move to the Premier League ever since, regularly being asked about Tottenham and insisting he is excited about the move.
This week saw him also admitting that he was also a little sad to be leaving Djurgården, the team who gave him his chance to shine and ultimately helped him to garner the attention of Tottenham and other big clubs in Europe.
His final game for the club will be this weekend and it seems while he may be hoping it’s a special occasion, his opponents have other ideas.
“Now the media wants me to talk, I’m going to say that I’m going to take Bergvall,” Fotboll Skanalen report Hammar saying, albeit in a joking manner.
“I say as always: I go into every match with the ambition and the will to win and that is no exception before a derby.
“They have many players who have a pretty good form curve and there are many who can score goals. He (Bergvall) doesn’t get an exception for that (it being his last game).
“He is a good player; all players are important for one’s team and he has done well during the spring. But I don’t put any weight on him, I think there are players other than him to watch out for.”
