Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly one of the clubs in the race for River Plate striker Lucas Beltran.
The details on the battle for the 22-year-old’s signing were brought on Tuesday by TNT Sports reporter Max Grillo.
He claims that with the ‘great level’ the striker has been showing at River Plate, several European clubs are now interested in him.
Besides Tottenham, the likes of Atletico Madrid, Napoli and AC Milan are said to be keen on his signing as well.
It’s the Rossoneri who could be leading this race, since they recently had a meeting with River Plate president Jorge Brito.
TNT Sports, however, writes that the Argentine side have no offers on the table yet. It’s just said he recently had a chance to move to MLS and was advised to stay in Buenos Aires.
Beltran has 14 goals and five assists in 63 matches for River Plate. He’s the main striker as he arrived to replace Julian Alvarez, who’s now at Manchester City.
Transfermarkt currently values the centre-forward at €6m, but with so many clubs interested, it’s likely that Tottenham would need to spend more.
