Tottenham defender Serge Aurier has made it clear he would like to join AC Milan this summer, but the two clubs are yet to agree a fee for him.
That’s what Gazzetta Dello Sport report today, explaining there’s a €5m gap between the teams in their valuations at present.
Aurier has been named as a target for Milan by several different sources this summer, with it reported they are keen to add a right-back to their squad.
Gazzetta back up those claims and state the club’s ‘attention’ has been focused on the Tottenham player in the last few months, after they decided to go for him instead of PSV Eindhoven’s Denzel Dumfries.
Spurs want €20m upwards, a figure ‘considered excessive’ by Milan, who were thinking of a sum around €15m.
Their interest is ‘concrete’ though, and they remain in contact with Tottenham to try and get a deal over the line, with it considered difficult but worth it nonetheless.
They like Aurier as he has similar characteristics to Theo Hernandez on the other wing, and they believe that would give Stefano Pioli’s side a nice balance, particularly offensively.
There is also a belief that Milan can be good for his attitude, which has been questioned everywhere he’s been, just like it was for Hernandez when he arrived.
There is, though, competition, with Bayer Leverkusen also showing ‘concrete interest’, a fact Tottenham are sure to want to play on to drive for a better price.
