Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and Newcastle United will battle it out for AS Monaco’s Lamine Camara this summer.
On May 16th, Sport Witness covered claims from France that Eddie Howe’s side made a move to sign the midfielder, valued at €50m.
Tottenham and Aston Villa join Newcastle United in the race for the 22-year-old.
He moved to Monaco from FC Metz in July 2024 and has been a regular when available for selection.
Camara has played 71 matches for the Ligue 1 side of which 31 are from this season. His growth has caught the attention of several clubs, including those from England, Germany, Italy and France.

The Premier League trio are stepping up their efforts to try and secure his services this summer.
That’s according to Media Foot, who focus on Tottenham Hotspur, the Magpies and Unai Emery’s side.
These three clubs are ‘currently the frontrunners’ and are ‘ready to invest a fortune’ to secure his services.
There’s no mention as to who among Roberto De Zerbi’s side, Newcastle United and the Villans are ahead in the race for the Senegal international.
Lamine Camara is focusing on preparing for the World Cup, with his feet on the ground. At the same time, he knows his representatives are ‘inundated with offers’ and would have to make a decision on his future.
The Senegalese seems ready for a new challenge this summer. A move to the Premier League, especially playing under De Zerbi or Emery, appeals to him.
Monaco invested €15m to acquire his signature and are aware it’ll be difficult to hold on him. With an increase in his value, the Ligue 1 side will consider selling Camara for €40-50m.
Player needs convincing
Tottenham, Newcastle United and Aston Villa are ready to invest and could meet Monaco’s demand to sign Lamine Camara.
It could come down to convincing him, who favours Spurs and Aston Villa. Therefore, the Tyneside club may have to put in an extra effort to sign the player.
A move to Villa Park will see Camara play in the Champions League while the other two didn’t qualify for Europe. With a contract until 2029, Transfermarkt value him at €40m.
