Tottenham are already planning their next move to bolster Ange Postecoglou’s defence, with Bologna’s Riccardo Calafiori in their sights.

That’s according to Corriere di Bologna, who say Tottenham have received ‘profoundly positive’ scout reports on the player and are going to step up their efforts in the summer as a result.

They explain that Calafiori is the ‘revelation’ of Serie A this season, having established himself as a key player in Bologna’s defence since a summer move from Basel.

His performances are not going unnoticed, and he is ‘making the eyes of all the experts shine’, including those of Italy coach Luciano Spalletti.

His displays at centre-back in particular are leaving people impressed and a list of suitors is already developing, with AC Milan already keeping a close eye on him and Napoli and Juventus also in the mix.

Tottenham have joined them ‘in the last few matches’, sending scouts to Bologna games to track him and draw up reports. Those that have been sent back to London have been ‘profoundly positive’ according to the newspaper.

At the moment any idea of a move is premature, but it won’t be long before Tottenham and others potentially move, with a €30m plus valuation already being mentioned.

Whether that’s a figure Spurs would be willing to pay given they already spent big on Radu Dragusin in January and Micky van de Ven in the summer before that, but Calafiori is on their list and someone they’ve heard great things about from their scouts so far.
