Ilaix Moriba has entered his final year of contract at Barcelona and his decision to not accept the Catalan club’s renewal proposal has seen him be forced to train with the reserves.

Chelsea and Manchester City are named as the midfielder’s suitors from England by the Spanish press and the duo are now joined by Tottenham Hotspur.

That’s what TuttoMercatoWeb are reporting as they say Spurs are the ‘best positioned team’ to sign the 18-year-old before the window closes on Tuesday.

Nuno Espírito Santo’s side are ‘strongly intent on bringing’ the Guinean to the Premier League and to do that, their managing director of football, Fabio Paratici, has started talks with the La Liga side.

The north London club wanting to sign the Barcelona player has also been reported by Calciomercato journalist Daniele Longo.

He took to Twitter to explain the negotiations between Tottenham and Ronald Koeman’s side to sign Moriba are ‘at an advanced stage’.

Longo further adds the intermediaries involved in the operation are working to ‘fix various details’ of the transfer and ‘there is confidence’ of getting the deal over the line.
