Brighton and Hove Albion owner Tony Bloom is set to do more business with St. Pauli this week, as they target Union SG manager Alexander Blessin to replace Fabian Hürzeler.
BILD explain that St. Pauli look set to pay around €1m to make Blessin their new manager as they step up their efforts to replace Hürzeler, who left for Brighton earlier this month.
A deal is getting closer, with reports in Belgium making it clear that Blessin’s move is only a few days away and he’s already informed the Belgian club of St. Pauli’s interest some time ago.
A figure ranging from €700,000 to €1m is being discussed between the two clubs, which is more than affordable for the German side given the €6m they received from Brighton for Hürzeler.
That required serious negotiations with the Seagulls and Bloom to get over the line, but they could be set to get a chunk of their money back thanks to Blessin’s move.
Bloom remains a shareholder in the Belgian side as well as at Brighton and BILD say part of the Hürzeler transfer fee will therefore indirectly flow back into the Bloom empire because of this deal.
That’s more tongue in cheek than anything serious but it seems after the long, drawn-out talks for Hürzeler, Bloom and St. Pauli are set for more business together, this time centered on Blessin, the man replacing Hürzeler at St. Pauli.
