According to claims in the Italian media, West Ham United have made a breakthrough in their pursuit of Inter Milan attacker Joao Mario.
The Portugal international has been linked with a move to the Hammers in the past week, but there have been reports West Ham were struggling to get a deal done.
SportItalia have reported via TMW, West Ham held productive talks this afternoon with regards to signing Mario. It’s claimed tomorrow will be key in the Premier League side’s attempts to sign the Inter Milan star, and that the player is being tempted with a move to England.
West Ham are said to be looking to loan Mario, with a right of redemption clause.
Earlier today we covered reports from Portugal that West Ham could use José Fonte to convince Mario over a transfer to the London club.
With Fonte being Mario’s international teammate, it’s hoped the West Ham defender can persuade the former Sporting Lisbon player to come to the club.
