Earlier this week, Calciomercato.it reported Antonio Conte has offered himself to Chelsea.
On Thursday, La Repubblica stated the Blues are keen and will do everything they can to convince the manager to return to Stamford Bridge. It was also said Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is ready to make an important offer to him.
Mauricio Pochettino has been in charge at the west London club since last summer and Sport Mediaset state Boehly has decided to part ways with him.
The American billionaire’s first-choice is Conte, who was at Chelsea between 2016 and 2018, and won the title.
If the Premier League side are successful in appointing Conte as their next manager, the report adds Romelu Lukaku would also be at Chelsea next season.
Lukaku excelled under Conte at Inter Milan and that convinced the English club to invest over €100m in 2021. He struggled to replicate the San Siro form in London, and has been out on loan since 2022.
The 30-year-old striker is currently on loan at AS Roma and would be at Chelsea next season if Bohely were to part ways with Pochettino and replace him with the Italian.
Conte is also being pursued by Napoli and it feels like his entourage are using Chelsea to try to put pressure on the Naples club, to step up their efforts to secure an agreement.
Parting with Pochettino doesn’t seem the foregone conclusion they present it as in Italy, with the manager showing he’s making progress with the squad.
