Last minute transfer ideas are the order of the day, and on Sunday French newspaper L’Equipe drag Chelsea into the Fabinho rumours.
Now it’s so late in the transfer window, Fabinho may have missed his chance of a big summer move, but L’Equipe there’s still some sort of possibility, although a stay at AS Monaco is likelier.
Monaco have cover for Fabonho, having strenghtened this summer, perhaps in anticipation of the Brazilian right back moving.
If he is to go then L’Equipe believe he’d cost the buying club €25m to €30m, which sounds a reasonable price for the talented 22 year old.
Antonio Conte has been more linked with central defenders than full backs, but he may be pushed into changing things around if he can’t get the man, or any of the men, he wants for central defence.
If Juan Cuadrado leaves the club that would in theory present Fabinho as a possible squad replacement, and the Brazilian is also flexible in his role.
AS Monaco play PSG on Sunday evening, with L’Equipe saying it’s possible it could be the player’s last match for his club.
