Stocking up on exciting talent in their academy, Manchester City were always bound to lose one or two to disillusionment, and David Faupala appears to be one of the first casualties.

The 20-year-old striker took to Instagram on Monday to announce he was leaving the club, seemingly via a termination of his contract, because it was ‘Time to see something else”.

Arriving from RC Lens back in 2015, Faupala only ever made one appearance for Manchester City during his two years there, playing 90 minutes in the FA Cup under Manuel Pellegrini, scoring a goal in a 5-1 loss to Chelsea.

Last season, the French striker was sent on two different loans.

His first was at NAC Breda in Holland, where he made four first-team appearances and scored one goal, before returning to Manchester City in January and going straight back out to Chesterfield, putting the ball in the back of the net just once in 14 games.

It remains to be seen where David Faupala will end up, but we’ll be keeping an eye on it and let you know if it’s anywhere interesting.
