Everton‘s Nathan Patterson has previously been linked with a move to Serie A and the player is finally about to move to Italy.
Over the past few months, Sport Witness have covered Bologna’s interest in the player. Genoa were also intrigued by the chance of signing him, especially when the Toffees were trying to sign Brooke Norton-Cuffy. Patterson was seen as a possible replacement and there was some optimism about a deal.
Nothing materialised on that front and so far this season, the right-back is yet to play in the Premier League.
Now, Torino have made progress in a move for the defender.
Permanent deal done
Gianluca Di Marzio reports that an agreement between Torino and Everton has been reached for Patterson’s permanent transfer.
The Scotsman is already in Turin to undergo his medical, having given a green light to the transfer too.
The journalist doesn’t offer the exact details but it has been described as a ‘low cost’ move, with Everton pocketing a hefty 30% sell-on clause. Patterson’s contract in Merseyside was anyway running out in 2027 and Torino have simply taken advantage of that to seal a deal quickly.
He will now sign a three-year deal, with the deal set to go through before transfer deadline.

Toffees getting a good deal
Everton didn’t pay a significant amount when they signed Patterson, and have managed to get a good sell-on clause.
Torino are known to be a club that constantly sells their best players. If Patterson ends up having a good couple of seasons in Turin, the 24-year-old will get his career back on track. It will also help him get a bigger move, especially as he is approaching his prime.
This will go down well at Everton, who will continue to profit.
