Towards the end of last month, Marca reported Barcelona had initiated contact over a potential deal for Everton star Amadou Onana next summer.
The midfielder’s displays for the Premier League side have seen him attract interest from the La Liga side and other clubs.
AS state several interested parties have already knocked on Everton’s door to ask about the 22-year-old.
Among these clubs, it’s claimed the ‘three most interested’ clubs are Barcelona, Arsenal and Manchester United.
The Belgium international’s deal lasts until 2027 and this puts the Toffees in a privileged position when deciding his future, despite the top clubs circling around him.
Everton paid €35m to take him from Lille in 2022 and he has already established himself at Goodison Park and also with the national team. Sean Dyche’s side are aware that they have a top-quality player at their disposal, who has a bright future ahead of him.
Therefore, AS state the Merseyside club are requesting around €70m to sell Onana. They add this is a ‘lot of money’ for Barcelona, whose financial situation is delicate.
Even though Onana’s preference for his future is yet to be made clear, Everton are in a comfortable position and can decide when they want to cash in from his sale.
