The race to land Uriel Antuna continues in North America, where Mexican and American sides want the Manchester City player for the next season.

The 22-year-old is having a loan spell at LA Galaxy which expires in December, and in the past week, it’s been reported that Chivas Guadalajara are interested in bringing him to his home country.

But now there’s a third team involved in this, according to a report from Record columnist David Medrano.

The journalist says that when negotiating the player with Manchester City in 2017, Santos Laguna have not only kept 50% of a future sale, but also the right to match offers for him.

That’s why he writes that for Chivas to sign Antuna, they must first get to a deal with Manchester City, and then see it Santos Laguna are not interested in signing him back.

Earlier this week, it’s been reported that Chivas offered US$11m for the player, but Manchester City were ‘not convinced’ by that amount and turned it down.
