Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay had a word with the Brazilian media following the 3-1 loss to Paris Saint Germain on Wednesday night.

The 23-year-old was clearly gutted over how things went at Old Trafford, and showed some discontent regarding the attitude of players from the French side.

“Yeah. Tough one, you know. With the way they act on the pitch, the way they conduct themselves,” Scott McTominay told Esporte Interativo.

“Sometimes I feel like it’s difficult to accept the way… obviously in terms of how the game panned out with the referee and the decisions that were made. I have nothing to comment on that. I think it’s poor. I feel like the way we were feeling in the dressing room now is not good for a reason, and that’s out of our control with things that happen on the pitch.

“But as I said, difficult game, we were the better team in my opinion, so for us we have to look to Saturday. We have to bounce back, we have to keep that positive momentum, I thought we were the better the team, throughout the whole game we created some brilliant chances. In football you have to take them, if not, you get punished.”

McTominay was asked if the PSG players were falling over too easily on the pitch, and claimed ‘it’s not football’, despite the good performance they had.

“You can see, can’t you. It’s not football, whatever. Teams play like that. But as I said, credit to them. They come in, they got a win, so we have to play well in the next game in the Champions League. Then it’s all to play for, you know?”

The midfielder had a battle against Neymar for the entire game, and was quizzed about the issues they had at the end of the first half, when the Brazilian was clearly annoyed with challenges made by the Manchester United player.

“It was fine, that’s football. He’s a top player. He says some funny things which obviously I can’t say. But that’s football, you know, people get angry, it gets heated, but as I say, he’s a terrific player and I have nothing but good things to say about him.”

Manchester United now need a result against RB Leipzig in the final fixture so they can guarantee a place in the Champions League’s knock-out stage. McTominay was asked if they have a ‘final’ in Germany, and agreed with that slant.

“Yes, of course. Every game is a final when you play for Man United. As I said, the chances we had, it’s important we have to take them. When we go away from home, those big moments in big matches. The manager said we have to take them, those small margins. That’s what cost us now.”
