Leeds United star Joel Piroe has backed teammate Crysencio Summerville to keep improving and ‘become a really big one’ in the near future.
The forward has been speaking to Voetbalzone in the Netherlands regarding his time at Leeds United after joining them in the summer.
He’s proven to be a key player for Daniel Farke’s side since his arrival, with a record of ten goals and one assist in 29 games in the Championship so far, a decent return on Leeds investment.
It’s fair to say he’s been upstaged by one of the forwards playing alongside him, though, with Summerville the undisputed start of the show at Elland Road to date.
His record of 12 goals and seven assists in 27 games in the Championship so far mean he is currently the fifth highest goal scorer in the league and only four off the joint top two. It’s a similar story in the assists charts, with only Norwich’s Gomes Sara having created more chance than the Leeds star this season.
There is plenty of interest in him as a result and Piroe is backing his teammate to make that big step up sooner rather than later.
“I really enjoy Cry at Leeds, he can become a really big one,” he said.
“He is, of course, very young, but if he continues like this, things can go quickly for him. Also, for Orange? I think so. He’s been doing great this season, so why not?”
