Manchester United signed Joshua Zirkzee when the Dutchman seemed very close to joining AC Milan.
A move to the San Siro seemed on the cards, until an issue with commissions cropped up and United managed to land the player
He’s scored just once in the Premier League and while the forward has proved unconvincing with his ability to find the back of the net, his link up play has impressed some.
Things are likely improve for the Netherlands international but in Italy, journalist Carlo Pellegati is convinced that things will not work out for Zirkzee in England.
SpazioMilan have looked at some of the journalist’s comments from his Youtube channel, as Pellegati tries to conjure up a ‘crisis’.
“Zirkzee had made it clear that he wasn’t ready for the Premier League, he wanted Milan, then the whole story of the commissions. Today Zirkzee is an uncomfortable player.”
The journalist also went on to speak about Milan, tipping the Rossoneri to sign the forward on loan in the January transfer window.
“Zirkzee should be taken on loan in January, they’ll give him to you . Next year there will still be some things to see in attack. Let’s leave Morata up front.
“Think of an attack with Pulisic, Leao, Zirkzee and Morata. Spectacle, we would return to San Siro to have fun. With Zirkzee the enthusiasm would return to the fans. These are proud gestures from Milan.”
It is quite clear that certain sections of the Italian press are getting ahead of themselves, especially when they are speaking about Zirkzee.
United are going through a difficult period and this is leading to players being singled out. Zirkzee isn’t alone in that.
