Achraf Lazaar returned to Newcastle United after spending the last campaign on loan at Serie B side Cosenza.

The left-back’s agent admitted in November that he tried to take his client away from the Magpies ‘until the last day’ of the summer transfer window.

Steve Bruce hasn’t included the player in his plans for this season and the 28-year-old has already said his representative is working to take him away from the Tyneside club in the winter market. Lazaar also stressed he “can’t wait to start a new challenge”.

The ex-Sheffield Wednesday loanee has less than six months left on his contract at St James’ Park and TuttoMercatoWeb now brings the latest update on the Moroccan’s future.

It’s claimed the player ‘warms up the engines to leave’ the Premier League club for a new destination.

TMW also explains Lazaar can leave Newcastle for nothing in January, thanks to the good relationship between his new agent Mohammed Sinouh and his current employer.

‘There’s agreement’, states the report and it further adds those around the fullback are studying the market to find the ‘right destination’.

There’s no mention of any suitors or where Lazaar could move in the winter market.
