Galatasaray have their eyes set on Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Mario Lemina for January.
That’s according to Fanatik, who state the Istanbul club are considering the midfielder’s name to replace Sérgio Oliveira in the second half of this season.
Oliviera, who earns €2.7m per year, has made 12 appearances this season, out of which five were in the Champions League qualifiers. He’s been reduced to a substitute role since the start of September due to a ‘gradual decline’ in form.
Due to sporting and financial reasons, the report states the Turkish champions have made a ‘radical decision’ to part ways with Oliviera in the winter market.
Galatasaray are determined to get rid of the Portuguese player and are planning to replace him with the Wolves player.
The Gabon international was on loan in Istanbul during the 2019/20 season and they are keen on bringing him back to the club.
It’s claimed ‘there will be a meeting’ and it’s expected that Galatasaray will make contact with the 30-year-old in the ‘coming days’ to find out whether he’s interested in returning to Turkey in the next window.
Lemina has a deal until 2025 and Wolves have an option to extend it for another year. He has been ‘indispensable’ for Gary O’Neil’s side, making eight league starts this season.
