Sofyan Amrabat is only interested in a return to Manchester United this summer, a decision which has left him stuck at Fiorentina for the time being.
That’s according to Corriere Fiorentina, via Viola News, and Corriere dello Sport, who both cover the midfielder today and how in his head ‘there is only Manchester United.’
Corriere Fiorentina report on several players in the Italian side’s squad at present and how they could be set to depart, with Amrabat among them.
While the Serie A side are working on exits finding one for the Moroccan is proving to be difficult as he is only interested in re-joining Manchester United after his loan spell with them last season.
The newspaper reports that ‘in his head there is only Manchester United’ and he’s willing to reject offers to move elsewhere, namely to Turkey, to ensure he gets it. He would, though, be willing to stay if United don’t present the right offer for him.
Corriere dello Sport say similar, reporting that Amrabat could be a starter for Fiorentina this weekend even if though he has expressed a desire to return to Manchester United.
They say that his stance of “I’m leaving at all costs” has now become “I’m leaving only if Manchester United (re)calls me”. He’s therefore ignoring the possibility of a move to Fenerbahce.
The problem is that Manchester United are yet to truly return for him as Fiorentina are asking for €17-18m to sell the midfielder, something the Premier League side aren’t keen on. They already turned down the chance to buy him for €20m at the end of his loan spell.
In all honesty, whilst Fiorentina’s local media are pushing that asking price, elsewhere in Italy it’s been put as low as €12m.
Amrabat could stay and even sign a new contract, although it all depends on what United do in the remaining two weeks of the transfer window.
