Mats Hummels’ late equaliser helped AS Roma secured a point against Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League on Thursday.
Heung-min Son opened the scoring for Spurs before Evan Ndicka netted the equaliser in the 20th minute. Brennan Johnson restored Tottenham’s lead in the 33rd minute before it was cancelled by Hummels’ goal in the stoppage time.
Friday’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere dello Sport both provided match ratings.
Gazzetta say Dejan Kulusevski was ‘the best’ and Rodrigo Bentancur was ‘the worst’ Spurs player against Roma. The 27-year-old midfielder was on the pitch for 78 minutes.
The Uruguayan is currently serving a seven-match domestic ban, and the Italian outlet claims his ‘rust’ was ‘clearly visible’ against the Serie A side.
Gazzetta rated Bentancur 5.5/10, and the same rating was given to Radu Drăgușin, James Maddison, Yves Bissouma and Dominic Solanke.
They gave 6/10 to Ben Davies and Archie Gray got 6/10, and 6.5/10 to Son, Johnson, Ben Forster and Pedro Porro. Kulusevski and Pape Matar Sarr got 7/10.
Corriere dello Sport say Solanke was ‘the worst’ and when describing his performance, they state: ‘He falls asleep on Dybala’s free kick and allows N’Dicka to head the ball away. Mister 60 million hits the crossbar at the end: he does little else.’
Solanke got a rating of 5.5/10, along with Bissouma, Maddison, Gray and Davies. Corriere rated both Porro and Drăgușin 6/10, and 6.5/10 to Kulusevski, Son and Bentancur. The highest rating they gave was 7/10, which is given to Forster, Sarr and Johnson.
