Back in August, Liverpool agreed a deal with Valencia for Giorgi Mamardashvili to arrive at Anfield in the summer of 2025.
The goalkeeper’s fine displays for the La Liga side last season and Georgia at the Euro 2024 convinced Liverpool to bet on him.
He’s kept three clean sheets and conceded 17 goals from 11 league games this season. Sport have a report on the incoming Liverpool player, explaining why he’s ‘the ray of hope’ for the Spanish club, and pretty much the only one.
They have one win after 11 league games, leaving them to languish at the bottom of the table with seven points. Los Ches have failed to score in four of their last seven matches.
Mamardashvili is the La Liga side’s ‘ray of hope’, to help them get out of the difficult situation. There had been worry he’d go in the summer, which would have left them in an even worse situation.
That didn’t happen, but Liverpool secured an agreement to bring the 24-year-old to the club next season. This helped Valencia retain the player for one more season and improve their finances.
With the Georgia international, Sport say Valencia currently have one of the best stoppers in the league.
They will be able to rely upon Mamardashvili before he joins Liverpool next summer. The goalkeeper will play a crucial role if Valencia are to avoid relegation this season.
