Manchester United have struggled to impress this season despite bolstering their attack and defence by adding Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Raphaël Varane to their squad.
The Red Devils, however, decided against signing a midfielder, a position that needs to be fixed, either in January or next summer.
In order to solve the issue in hand, the Old Trafford club may have a solution in the form of Franck Kessié.
According to Il Milanista, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are one of the clubs to show interest in the AC Milan player.
The 24-year-old’s contract expires at the end of this season and there has been no progress in the renewal talks since the Serie A side are not willing to meet his demands. He wants €8m per season, but Milan are not willing to go beyond €6.5m.
While there is a stalemate in the contract negotiations, the possibility of Milan losing the African for nothing next summer is becoming ‘more concrete’.
Kessié has been on the agenda of other clubs and from England, ‘appreciation comes from Manchester United’, who ‘dream’ of having a midfield of ‘The President and Paul Pogba’.
Stefano Pioli’s man is dubbed as the ‘president’ and he got this name from his current teammates. On this subject, this is what Kessié had to say.
“Why do they call me ‘The President’? Because I am the president of the team, the head of the dressing room,” Kessié was quoted as saying by Milan Live last year.
