Back at the January transfer window, we saw Leicester City loaning Nathaniel Opoku out to OH Leuven.
The 21-year-old had barely arrived at the Foxes, but by being a young player not adapted to European football, he was sent to Belgium to gain more experience on the pitch.
Now speaking of his good form at OH Leuven (via Walfoot), Opoku talks about the possibility of having his loan from Leicester at the Belgian side extended for another year.
“Neither OHL nor Leicester have spoken to me about next season yet” said Opoku.
“I have no idea where I will be playing, but if Leicester thinks it is a good idea that I stay in Leuven for another year, that’s perfect.”
Opoku has five appearances for OH Leuven so far. In their last match against KV Mechelen, he had a goal and an assist in their 4-1 in, and that’s the reason why he’s getting hyped up right now.
The striker joined Leicester City’s academy on a move from American side Syracuse in January, and was immediately loaned out.
Since the youngster is just getting started in European football, it’d probably make sense for the Foxes to let him stay in a place where he’s fully adapted for another year.
That should also depend on the attacking options the club will have in the next season and also whether they stay in the Premier League.
