West Ham United’s offer for OGC Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo has made life complicated for Juventus, whose €20m offer for the player is being seen as somewhat delusional.
Corriere dello Sport cover the player today and say that while it is ‘full speed ahead’ for the Italian side and their efforts to get the defender, things are difficult ‘thanks to West Ham’.
The newspaper explains that Juventus have been flirting with Todibo for days and he is increasingly convinced that that he will be moving to Italy this summer.
He’s already given his approval to the transfer and Juventus are seemingly confident of getting it done, but there is a distance between the two sides in terms of asking price.
Nice value the defender at €35-40m thanks to the recent proposal from West Ham, who came close to those figures but were rejected.
Juventus, on the other hands, do not intend to go beyond €20-25m for the player so there is a distinct difference between the two clubs at this moment in time.
Work is being done to smoot things out and contacts between the clubs are continuous, with Juventus even trying to set up a loan with an obligation to buy next summer.
Their stance believes to be somewhat delusional at this moment in time, believing they can get Todibo on the cheap, an idea that has been pretty much ruined by West Ham’s significantly higher and already rejected bid.
