With Denzel Dumfries still linked to a Premier League move, it seems Manchester United are now the strongest candidates to take him to England.
That’s today written by Italian outlet Inter Live, who says a ‘channel has reopened’ with the Red Devils in recent days.
The website claims Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag ‘respects’ Dumfries and ‘would like to bring’ the player to Old Trafford.
The Dutch manager may just have some other priorities first, because the club are first focused on finding Aaron Wan-Bissaka a new club, and are also reportedly interested in Ivan Fresneda for that position.
But in case of an attempt for Dumfries, Inter Live even brings some details of what Manchester United’s offer could be.
It’s said the Red Devils ‘could come forward’ to put €40m on the table, plus a four-year contract, with an option for an extra season, worth €5m per year. They label that as a total expense of €70m.
Inter Milan had been demanding more to sell Dumfries last summer, but since they ‘desperately need to sell’ this year, they could make a discount, and the above amount sounds like enough for a negotiation.
