With Rasmus Højlund now travelling to England to complete his transfer to Manchester United, the Red Devils can focus on improving their midfield.
It’s no secret that they need to have someone in the squad to take over from Casemiro when the Brazilian needs a rest, and a player like Sofyan Amrabat would go a long way to giving Erik ten Hag more options to work with.
Many stories about a deal being close have been reported over the past few weeks, with some being denied, and journalist Alfredo Pedullà, speaking to Passione Fiorentina on Twitch and relayed by Labaro Viola, took some time to clarify the situation surrounding the Manchester United target.
He said: “Fiorentina and Manchester United, despite denials, have already spoken. The figure? We can break through the €30m figure. Saudi suggestions? These are old matters, like the one concerning Osimhen.
“He is a Ten Hag choice, like Onana and Højlund. Fiorentina will get upward of €30m, maybe close to €35m. For me, if Amrabat leaves, Fiorentina can go for a strong midfielder.”
Whether Fiorentina actually receive that much money for the Morocco international remains to be seen, because previous reports suggested Manchester United were trying to lowball the Serie A side at first.
After all, it is only logical that the Red Devils would want to spend as little as possible on the player while the Italian will want as much as possible.
That’s how transfers work, after all.
