West Ham United are expected to appoint Tim Steidten as their new technical director, despite him holding talks with Manchester United.
Earlier reports in the UK had indicated the 44-year-old was a leading candidate to get a role with the Hammers.
Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg has taken to Twitter to state Steidten is on the verge of joining West Ham despite an approach from Manchester United. The German had held talks with the Red Devils, according to the claims.
Plettenberg says Steidten made a decision to join the Europa Conference League winners, despite the claimed Manchester United talks.
The journalist adds Steidten will be tasked with building a long-term project at West Ham. His move to the London Stadium should go through next week as there are still minor details that needs to be ironed out.

Steidten has been without a job since leaving Bayer Leverkusen in March, and obviously has lots of experience and knowledge of the Bundesliga.
Whether that provides a hint over which market West Ham will be looking towards remains to be seen.
