Brazil’s new manager Fernando Diniz may have had a great start in the job by beating Bolivia 5-1 on Friday, but the centre-forward he started didn’t share the same joy.
Tottenham Hotspur star Richarlison was the one playing up front, and had one more disappointing performance. Despite how easy the game was, he missed a sitter, and after getting substituted, he was seen in tears on the bench.
Outlet UOL today shares a piece on the striker’s situation at the national team, and explains that everyone there is giving him big support.
It’s said Brazil’s squad realised how sad Richarlison has been, especially because he’s the one who usually cheers up the environment. Now they’ve embraced him and want to ‘help’ him to get back to his best, showing big faith he’ll score against Peru on Tuesday evening.
UOL recalls that the player hasn’t been great at Tottenham either, where he only has one goal in five appearances this season.
He believed things would go different at the national team, but that’s not what is happening. That’s why the players are even hopeful they can ‘help’ him in the next game.
Back in June, Richarlison gave an interview claiming no one would take the number 9 shirt from him at the national team. Now the Tottenham player needs to prove he still deserves it.
